Language of Evil by Robert Beattie

I usually always enjoy reading True Crime novels.(This is a true crime about a college professor, that killed his wife). But with the book Language of Evil by Robert Beattie, I was left unsatisfied. Almost the entire book was set in Interview Room # 2 in a small town police station in Kansas, this book had few characters, and no mystery. I found the book interesting, yet lacking. I was hoping for so much more then what I received from this book.

A`ishah Folk Mitten Pattern

Another Fair Isle Mitten design from me. I call this mitten A`ishah. This is a French name that means Lively. I called it that because I think that this is a very lively pattern. I used Nature Spun worsted weight wool, in the color Pepper for the main color of this mitten. And a very pretty Self stripping yarn called Boku made by Plymouth Yarn co. This is color #13. It has very soft , very pretty blues, purples, greens and yellows, in this lovely mix. Perfect color combinations fro a Fair Isle mitten. This mitten is 9 inches long and 7 1/2 inches around. It is knit with size 2 1/2 double pointed needles(3 mm). This is a very warm, and pretty mitten. Perfect to keep out the winter cold and snow. This pattern can be found at

The Web by Jonathan Kellerman

Hummm!! I am wondering if I am becoming a Kellerman fan! Maybe, maybe not. The Web is the strangest book that I have ever read. It is a story with creepy bugs in it, usually not my style of reading, a lost paradise island, and a murder mystery. So many characters in this book, I can't even count them. Kellerman sure has a way of making up strange characters, with amazing traits. Any way this was another page turner for sure!!!!

Purple and Yellow roving

One of my favorite colors in nature is Purple and Yellow Pansies. I think they are just delightful. Those colors put a smile on my face and a twinkle in my eye. I tried to duplicate that color in my roving. And by Gosh I think that I have. I will have this roving on my wheel this afternoon. I am going to try out my small whorl. I have not used it since I got my wheel, and I have decided to give it a go.

This yarn is from my hand dyed pink and green roving. I used Acid dyes in the colors Hot Fuchsia, and Charteuse. This yarn is 13 WPI which makes it DK weight yarn, and there are 248 yards of it. I see lots of pink, and lots of green, with a hint of orange, and a hint of blue here and there. I really, really like his pink and green color combination!!!

A Happy Ending!!!!!

I woke up let my dog out to go potty, then started a fresh pot of coffee. I love fresh brewed coffee in the morning. Any way I got everything ready with the coffee pot, plugged it in and the darn thing would NOT work. Bummer!!! No fresh brewed coffee for me today. So I was about to have a bad day. Because I was not going to drive into the big city for another coffee maker, because it is cold( -6, -23 with the windchill,)and slippery out. So I start filling the tea pot with water, I decide to have instant coffee, which by the sucks, but it will do in a pinch like this. While I am waiting for my water to get hot for my instant coffee, I go over and play with the coffee pot some more, I talk to it very nicely, I stroke, I decide to plug it in one more time, and wouldn't you know the thing worked!!!!! A MIRACLE I tell you. Now for what really happened. I made a roast in the crock pot yesterday, and I haven't put away my crock pot yet today. I was plugging my crock pot all morning to make coffee instead of my coffeemaker!!! DUMB ME!!! They both have white cords, and they were right next to each other, and I kept plugging in the crock pot LOL I am so glad that is over. I am going to go downstairs now and enjoy a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Now if the rest of my day goes as planned, I should have a good day!!!

The Reader by Bernhard Schlink

The Reader by Bernhard Schlink is an Amazing, Amazing, Amazing love story!!!
You must read this book!!!!
It is now a major motion picture. I plan to see this movie as soon as my husband reads this book. So that we can enjoy it fully together!!!

Pretty Pink and Green

I wanted Pink and green roving, so I dyed this roving using Acid dyes in the colors Hot Fuchsia, and Charteuse. With a steady hand, and a keen eye. I went for it. I was afraid that if my pink and my green mixed in the dying process I would get a muddy brown. But no muddy brown in this roving!!! YAY!!! I see pink, green, a touch of orange, and a touch of blue. When I spin this up, I really don't think that I will see much blue, or orange. I will have this wool on my wheel this afternoon.
