She is A Cover Girl

I made my Book Page Girlie into a Cover Girl. I took 2 pieces of 5" x 7" matt board and covered the boards with book pages, painted the covers orange, wiped the paint off with a baby whip, then made purple circles with a dixie cup, and used pink to put dots on the covers. I added my Girlie to the front cover. I used my Bind it all to bind the journal and added fabric, and paper beads for embellishment. I like the way my little journal turned out. :)

Journal

I made this fun Journal with 2 pieces of cardboard that I cut to 6" x 9". Then I covered the boards with book pages, then painted them turquoise. I wiped much of the paint off with a baby wipe, so that you can still see the printing on the book pages. I added a Zentangled Rose to the front cover, some fabric and paper beads to embellish the journal also. I made a button and band closure for the journal. I like the way that it turned out. :)

Basic Knit Socks

I finished knitting another pair of basic socks. I always keep my knitting bag right next to my chair in the living room, just in case I feel like knitting. For this pair of socks I cast on 60 stitches, used the classic heel and toe. I used a size 1 1/2 needle. Deborah Norville yarn.

Girlie Art Journal page

For today's Art Journal page, I drew a Girlie, and colored her in with colored pencils. I think that I used every shade of brown that I had for her hair.  I painted my journal page with pink acrylic paint, that I sprayed with water to lighten the color, my journal pages have had such a dark background color lately. I decided to lighten the background up a bit. I used rub ons for the wording " Do what you love. Love what you do. The butterflies and the green leaf are also rub on's. I added a bit of bling here and there on the page, just to add a bit of sparkle. :)

Zentangle Rose

A Zentangle Rose on my shaving cream, alcohol ink paper.
I think that it turned out sooooooo Pretty!!!

Pretty Print.

Do you want to know how I made this pretty print on this paper? Well let me tell you. It was very simple. I put some shaving cream on a paper plate. Then put a few drops of alcohol ink into the shaving cream. I took the end of a paint brush and stirred the ink around. Then I placed my piece of paper on top of the shave cream, lifted it off, and scraped the shaving foam off of my card stock. And Look at the Pretty print that I got. I am soooooo going to Zentangle on this paper!!!! I Love it!! The idea for this project came from the Summer issue of Card Maker magazine. Great Idea!!!!!

The lady and the lighthouse

I had so much Fun making today's art journal page. I had a lighthouse and a Lady and decided to put them together. This is a collage of torn pages from magazines, and book pages. I don't know why but I like torn book pages in my collages. I used two colors of green paint, and two colors of blue paint in the background.
After I glued down my pieces of paper I went over them with paint, before the paint was dry, I wiped a lot of it off with a baby wipe, so that the papers would show through a bit. I like the way that this page turned out!

Buffalo Tooth Necklace

My husband and I went to Deadwood last week for a little Get away. We had a very nice time. We did a bit of shopping, I was looking for beads. I wanted to buy beads to mix in with my paper beads, so that I would have a unique and one of a kind necklace. I went into this one very small shop in Hill City. As I was browsing around I saw a Buffalo Tooth, and knew right away that would be perfect for my paper bead necklace. What a Cool find!
With those purchased beads, seed beads and my paper beads, this is the necklace that I came up with.
It is for sure one of a kind, and unique! I LOVE it, and I am going to enjoy wearing it this summer. :)

1890's Mixed Media Art Journal Page

For this Art Journal Page, I used water color paint for the background. Blue, brown, and green. I stenciled 2 green fleur de lis on the page with a green water color pencil. I fussy cut the image of the lady from an image that I got from  The Graphics Fairy    This is an image of 1890's Ladies Fashion. I colored the image a bit with blue , and terracotta colored pencil. I added a feather, and a sticker embellishment to her hat.

Mixed Media Art Journal Page

For this Art journal page, I used water color paints, acrylic paint, a Tim Holtz ticket, and a moth accent form K&Company. First I colored the background purple with water color paint. Then I made some Modeling Paste. I used Baking soda and gesso. I just put some gesso in a Dixie cup, then added baking soda and mixed the 2 together until I got the consistency that I wanted. I laid a stencil on my page and went over it with the mix. I lifted the stencil and got an Amazing design. Then I added a Tim Holtz ticket that says Adore. I used a green water color pencil to paint a swirl on the page. I put the moth on top of the swirl. In the upper right hand corner I added a green flower sticker, then put a heart sticker in the center of the flower.
I painted the modelling paste with Folkart metallic paint in the color Peridot. I just love the metallic paints. They add a bit of sparkle to my pages. I am going to for sure make modelling paste again on future pages I just Love it!
