Neck Warmer Pattern

This is a quick, and very easy, 1 skein pattern to knit. A great project to make as a gift. It is a pattern that will be stylish, and also warm, to keep the winter wind and cold away from your neck. This pattern uses 208 yards of DK weight yarn, and is knit with size 5 needles. http://mrae123.etsy.com/

The ONLY place that housework comes before knitting is in the dictionary.

Waterfall Socks

My first pair of Toe up socks. They are not twins, but I am so very proud of them. I had a heck of a time with the cast on until I found one that worked good for me. I used Denise's toe up cast on. http://www.socknitters.com/toe-up/tulessonone.htm I LOVE it. Once I figured out how the cast on worked, it was smooth sailing after that. I used size 1 DPN and the size small for this sock. Knitting over 56 stitches is the perfect fit for me. The pattern for this sock can be found here http://www.straw.com/cpy/patterns2/socks/MMochi-waterfallsock.html I used On Your Toes sock yarn. This is a 4 ply sock yarn with Aloe Vera in the yarn. They feel wonderful on my feet. I would like to thank my Dear Knitting Friend Karen for helping me with the questions I had, about knitting my first toe up sock, and giving me the encouragement that I needed to finish these socks. Karen has started a Yahoo Group for knitting toe up socks. The group is SocksToeUp@yahoogroups.com I invite you to join the group if you would like to knit toe up socks with us!!!

Americana

With Americana I captured the colors of American History and Folklore. I had dyed Merino wool, red and blue, then I spun it into yarn, and plied it with Merion wool in it's natural color white, and plied the two singles together. I got a Beautiful color that I call Americana. This is 4.1 ounces of yarn, that is DK weight at 13 WPI, and is 148 yards long. This yarn can be best knit with size 5 - 6 needles, with 5.5 -6 stitches per inch in gauge.

Hot off my wheel. I dyed Merino wool, with Easter Egg dye. I used Blue, pink, and green. I got a very soft. lovely mix of color. I call this mix Sweetie Pie. It is 182 yards, at 13 WPI, which makes it DK weight yarn. It weighs 3.9 ounces. I LOVE it! I think that is spun up beautifully!! This yarn can be knit with size 5, or size 6 needles, with a gauge of 5.5 - 6 stitches per inch.

Diet up date

I have finally lost another pound. So my big total weight loss is 5 lbs. In six weeks. Not very good weight loss. I joined a gym last Saturday. And my whole body hurts!!! Not only from working out , but from Sunburn.
I have been tanning at the gym to. My jelly belly is going away. I have more belly fat to lose but I am happy with the way that my waist line is getting smaller. I will continue working out at the gym at least until the end of August, because I joined for 3 months. Then I will just have to see if I want to continue at the gym. I hope to be in shape by the end of the summer!!!!!
