My first toe up sock

This is the toe of my sock. The cast on was not easy for me. It took me about 4 tries to get the toe at all.I hope that I do better with my cast on for the second sock. I am not going to frog this toe because, I am not in the mood to start over again.I am just hoping for better luck with my 2nd sock. I will start the foot part now. I am knitting the socks 1 at a time on DPN.

Simple Garter Stitch Scarf

I knit a simple Garter Stitch scarf for my Granddaughter Casey. Pink Camouflage yarn is her very favorite color yarn. I used Bernat Camouflage yarn and a size 8 needle. I cast on 30 stitches, knit in garter stitch for 43 inches. Then added fringe. This will keep her neck nice and warm next winter. :)

Black Out by Lisa Unger

Black Out is a psychological suspense story with lots of twists and turns. But it is easy to follow. A nice summer read.

Diet Up Date.

Well I blew my diet last week. Not just one day, I blew it every single day last week!!! I was a BAD girl, a VERY BAD girl!!!! I promise that I will get it together this week. I still have a weight lose goal, and I am going to make that goal, I hope !!!
But I must say I enjoyed every single chili cheese fry that I ate last week!!

Hand knit from my hand spun

I hand dyed some Merino wool, with blue and orange Easter Egg dye , and got a fun mix of blue, orange, and a hint of green. Then I spun it up into a warm and soft DK weight yarn. I decided to knit a hat with this yarn. It is a simple beanie style hat, with a 2 x2 ribbing, the ribbing is 3 and 1/4 inches long. The hat is 9 and 1/2 inches long, so that the ribbing can be folded up if you would like, extra warmth over the ears.

Chillin at Grandma's

It is a chilly, cloudy day today. So Casey is just Chillin and playing on the computer at Grandma's today!!! She is my Sweetie Pie!!! :)

Chili Cheese Fries

My Granddaughter is staying with me for a few days. Her last day of school was Wednesday and she is going to stay with me until Sunday. Grandchildren have a way for making you cheat on your diet. Yesterday, I had chicken and pizza, today I had Chili Cheese Fries!!!! YUM!!!!!

Chili Cheese Fries are so very hard for me to pass up!!! I eat them slowly and enjoyed every single one of them :) I will do 25 extra sit ups today!!!

Diet Update

This morning I am happy to report another pound lost. Man O Man that was 1 tuff pound to lose!!! I dieted all week, and did 200 sit ups a day, that is 1,400 sit ups for the week, and I only lost 1 pound. So my total weight lose is 4 weeks is 4 pounds. But I am not discouraged. I am going to continue on my Weight Watchers - Nutrisystem diet combo, at least for a couple more weeks , because I have 2 weeks of the YUCKY Nutrisystem food left. When that food is gone. I will just continue on with the weight watchers diet.
The sit ups have really, really, really helped to make my waste thinner, and my belly flatter, and tighter. It was HOT and Sunny yesterday, so I took the opportunity to try on my swim suit and lay out in the sun and read for an hour. Let me tell you it was a wonderful hour, and my swim suit fit great.
But I am going to continue on my diet journey because I want to lose more then 4 pounds for all of this work that I have been doing. So this week, starting today I am going to boost my sit ups to 225 a day. Sit ups are so easy with my AbRocket. I just love it!!! Well that's it for this weeks diet update. I will check in again next Tuesday with another update. Hopefully I can lose another pound. If I would lose 2 pounds next week that will be something to celebrate.

Another Diet update

Well I am not sure that my nutri system, Weight watchers diet combo is working. I still have only lost 3 lbs since I started this diet. I am still motivated, but my weight is not budging. I have two scales. One is digital, and one is a regular scale, they both are showing the same weight. Maybe I need to get a talking scale. One that will moan, and groan when I step on it. Maybe that will help to get the weight off.
I LOVE my AbRocket!!! I am going to increase my sit ups to 200 a day. I know that my jelly belly is almost gone. My waist is getting smaller and my stomach is getting flatter. But I have a ways to go before I am skinny. I guess that maybe I should increase the amount of water I am drinking. I know that I am not drinking enough.
On a knitting note, I have a new mitten design on my needles. I hope to have it ready in a couple of weeks. My knitting sure slows down when the weather gets nicer, because I am outside more. I have some roving on my wheel right now, but I haven't did any spinning for over a week, again the problem is I am outside way more, so my spinning time it less.
My husband is busy getting all of our flowers, and our garden planted, I will probably spend some time with him today, outside watching him garden. Because I do not have a green thumb. He is for sure the gardener around here.

Diet up date

Ok, so I started the nutrisystem diet 2 1/2 weeks ago. It is NOT working out for me. I have lost 3 lbs so far. I am eating lots of yogurt, and lettuce. I am getting tired of lettuce, let me tell you, there are only so many ways to make a lettuce salad, and I have tried them ALL. I bought an AbRocket the same time that I started the diet. I LOVE it. I started out doing 100 sit ups a day. I have now bumped that up to 150 sit ups a day. My stomach is changing. It is getting thinner and flatter, but I am not losing enough weight to make me happy. So I am giving up on the nutrisystem and I am going to mix in a little Weight Watchers. You get way more food choices with Weight Watchers, and I can cook a meal that both my husband and I can eat together. Not an option with nutrisystem. If doing the 150 sit ups and WW mix in, does not work, I will probably boost my sit ups to 200 a day next week. I do them 50 at a time on my AbRocket, which is a breeze, when I do it this way. Any way I am off to make another salad.

Weekender Sweater

Me Weekender Sweater is Finished. This was a big project for me. I usually only knit small things, like hats, mittens, socks, and scarves. The pattern came from Creative Knitting May 2007. So you know how long I have been thinking about knitting this sweater. A good long time! I used Simply Soft Eco yarn in the color Baby Blush, and size 6 needles. It got boring knitting with just the Blush yarn, so I added a couple of racing stripes to my sweater. One in purple and one in lime green.
