80 T Pins

I have my shawl blocked in my dinning room right now. I used some foam play mats that I have for my Granddaughter to play with. I put them down for a blocking mat, and used 80 T pins to hold the shawl in place. It measures 69 x 30 now. I put 1 scallop in the edge of my shawl. I thought that would look nicer then a plain straight edge.

Shawl

I cast off my shawl last night. This is what it looks like before blocking. It measures 50 x 22. I just love the rich deep color and texture of my shawl. I will be blocking the shawl later today.

Starting Over

OK so I messed up the Forest Canopy shawl. But I am still in the mood to knit a shawl. I found a very easy shawl pattern called the Eyelet Shawl. I cast on and all is going well. I don't need life lines for this pattern :), and I LOVE the way it is showing off the colorway of my hand spun!

FROG

I had to FROG my whole shawl. I was using life lines, but I still made a mistake, and could not get the pattern to come out right, so I am going to cast on a different shawl tonight!!!

Shawl

My Forest Canopy Shawl is coming along slowly but surely. I just love this knitting project. It is working up so nicely for me, and I am loving the color way of my handspun. I am using lifelines on every row 2, because I am not brave enough to knit this shawl without lifelines. I have already had to use my life line once. I plan on knitting this shawl all week. I wonder if I will finish the shawl this week. Maybe!!

Shawl

I am knitting the Forest Canopy Shawl. It is a Beautiful shawl. For some reason I had a hard time getting passed row 13 without frogging the project. But finally I made it past row 13. There are a lot of YO's in this pattern, sometimes YO's do me in. But I LOVE the pattern and plan on finishing this shawl. I am using my handspun yarn for this project. It is a DK weight yarn, with a mix of Beautiful purples, greens, and blues! I am excited to work on this project.

Newborn Bootie Socks

I knit these Newborn Bootie socks with more of the Red Heart Soft yarn , in the color Cherry Red. They were very easy to knit. The pattern calls for size 7, and size 8 DPN, but I could not find my size 8 DPN's anywhere. I know for sure that I have a set of size 8 DPN's somewhere. Maybe they are stuck in a UFO somewhere in the house. Any way I knit them with size 7 DPN, they came out just fine. I bought little red ladybug buttons to sew onto them, but my daughter would not let me sew the ladybugs on them until we know if the baby is a girl or a boy. She thinks that ladybugs are only for girls. So I will wait. the pattern for these little socks can be found here

Knit Two by Kate Jacobs

This book was easy to read, but just a bit to fluffy, and predictable. And if I had to make a guess, she is going to write a Book 3. But I probably won't read it if she does.

Rib-knit Baby Hat

I think that this baby hat is soooooo very Adorable, and will go nicely with my Baby kimono. I used the same Red Heart Soft yarn, that I used for the baby kimono. It did not take much yarn at all to knit this cute little hat. The pattern is sooooo very easy. Just a 1 row pattern repeat, and then knit an Icord. I knit this little hat on size 4 needles, and it turned out as cute as can be! The pattern can be found here

One Piece Baby Kimono

This is just the cutest little Baby kimono pattern. It is knit all in one piece, which I like a lot. Making it very easy to knit. The pattern comes from the first Mason Dixon Knitting book. It can be knit in garter stitch or stockinette. I knit it in the garter stitch on size 6 needles, and I used Red Heart Soft yarn. It is very important that baby things are soft and washable. This yarn is just that, very soft and washable. It is quick to knit, but it took me a while to finish , because I would put it down to play with my new loom, which I love. Then throw in a little spinning, and it took me a while to get this knit up. But I Love it. Now I am off to find a baby hat pattern to go with the kimono.

Product Review

having GOOD nail polish is Pretty important to me.
I do my finger nails and toe nails ALL the time.
I have found a Nail Polish that I LOVE and it is not expensive. Only $6.50
It is Sally Hansen Color Quick.
Fast Dry Nail Color Pen
This stuff does go on quick, and it is not messy and it does dry FAST, and
it lasts a long time on the nail. I don't have to keep re-doing my nails sooooo often.
